Manchester Outreach Medics

WHO MOMs ARE

Manchester Outreach Medics (MOMs) are a team of medical student volunteers from Manchester Medical School who run widening participation initiatives in Manchester and Lancashire. Founded in 2015, MOMs aim to support young people from lower socio-economic backgrounds in their aspirations for careers in medicine.

The team organise a series of outreach events throughout the academic year to empower young people with knowledge about medical school and life as a doctor. With a firm belief in providing equal opportunities, MOMs works with Year 11 - Year 13 students, running events they can attend for free.

MOMs events are designed to provide valuable guidance through informative presentations, innovative group activities and passionate medical student-led teaching. These are all brought to fruition by the ever-growing team of volunteers, who deliver high quality content in their shared enthusiasm for the MOMs mission.
